Snapology offers after-school enrichment classes in elementary schools in the Pittsburgh area in both Allegheny and Washington Counties.
In our classes, students develop problem solving and critical thinking skills as they work in teams to build machines, robots and other structures out of Lego® bricks.

Classes are designed for students who fall within the recommended ages and have no behavioral concerns that could impact his/her ability to participate in a team oriented activity. Enrollment exceptions for younger students are determined on an individual basis with instructor approval.
Classes Appropriate for Elementary School Aged Children
Robotics: 'Amazing Animals', 'Awesome Adventures' and 'Incredible Inventions' Robotics [3 Different Sessions, do not need to be taken in order] If you like to build with Lego® bricks - you'll love this! Come build awesome robotic models featuring working motors and sensors! Work in teams under guided instructions to build and program Lego® models. Build a different model each class! Don't miss out on all the fun!
Robotics: Lego® Combat Robots Do you think you can build the strongest and most agile robot? Can your robot win a head-to-head combat mission? Come learn basic strategies for building sturdy structures and then apply that knowledge to build a robot for friendly competition. Be prepared to have tons of fun!
Lego® Black Belts: Machines in Motion [2 Different Sessions, do not need to be taken in order] Get your Lego® bricks movin'. Come build super-cool models that use gears, axels, and technic bricks. Through play children will learn about simple engineering and physics concepts. Work in teams under guided instruction to build a different model each class!

Robotics Rescue Mission — Basic Building and Programming There has been a devastating earthquake in Dalto, CA. Can you save the town? Students in this class will learn how to build and program an autonomous robot using Lego® Mindstorms® NXT technology. Their new skills will be used to solve real-world problems, helping it's town after a natural disaster. Students will program and modify their robot to complete challenges set up on a large game board modeled after the town of Dalto, CA.
Prior robotics experience is not necessary. Beginners are welcome

Energize your Lego bricks with Snapology! Ever wonder how energy is developed from the sun, wind, and water? Come build a super cool Lego® car or Ferris Wheel powered by solar energy. Build an awesome windmill and watermill that really work from wind and water energy. Save the planet and build with Lego bricks all at the same time!
Each class ends with a free play session to promote creativity
Recommended for students ages 8-14
Lego® Yellow Belts: Machine Madness [3 Different Sessions, do not need to be taken in order]
If your child likes to build with Lego® bricks - you'll love this! Young students build fun and simple models.By playing with and manipulating the models, they experience pulleys, levers, gears, wheels and axles while exploring energy, buoyancy, and balance. Shh, don’t tell them it’s educational!
Session A sample models: Dog, Car Launcher, Pinwheel
Session B sample models: Hockey player, Merry-go-round, Mixer
Session C sample models: Raft, Fan, Crane
Each class ends with a free play session to promote creativity
Recommended for students age 4-6 who are unable to build along with set instructions
Come build super-cool models that use gears, axels and pulleys. Work in teams under guided instruction to build a different model each week. This class is designed so that children of all ages and building abilities can build together.
Sample models: Windmill, Rubber Band Car, Catapult
Each class contains ample free play time to promote creativity
Lego® Animation Studio
Create amazing movies with stop motion animation using Lego® bricks. Children will work in teams under guided instruction to make a digital movie using stop motion techniques. By the end of the week, each team will have produced their very own movie complete with dialog and sound effects. The best part is, they'll each get a copy of the movie to show their friends and family how cool they are!
Recommended for students in ages 8-14

Classes Appropriate for Pre-School Age Children Junior Creator's Club
Come watch your child and be amazed with what they create in our Discovery Center. Pre-schoolers and Kindergarteners can participate in various creative play activities designed to promote the creative, social and expressive skills of children. You'll be amazed at the improvement you'll see in your child's fine motor skills after just a few visits to Snapology.
